Serious accident in north rhine-westphalia: on thursday evening (4. January 2018) a regular service bus crashed into a bank branch in alsdorf near aachen. According to initial findings by the aachen police, a total of four people were slightly injured in the accident.
Right into the shop window
The bus driver lost control of the vehicle while turning left at an intersection in the district of mariadorf and drove into the opposite lane of traffic. The bus collided with four cars and finally crashed into the shop window of the bank branch. The bus driver, two passengers and a passenger in a car were slightly injured.
Police, fire department and technical rescue service were still on the scene hours after the accident. The statics of the building were also to be checked. A load-bearing wall had been blown away by the impact, the fire department announced early friday morning. After the bus had been salvaged during the night, a massive construction tower was built in its place. Afterwards, the residents of the building were able to return to their apartments, it was said.
